Perro Sucio - Perro Sucio 2 [Dealer of Illusions]

Perro Sucio 2 is a self titled sequel by Perro Sucio, known to many followers of the mexican underground scene as El Catorce.

Perro Sucio continues his evolution in this release with pounding, raw music. Through the sonic lense of boom bap beats that slowly advance towards progressively more experimental and agressive motives, the listener gets a glimpse to this young producer's daily atmosphere. It's a like a stroll along dirty streets where you'll meet strange and distant characters. The smell of smoke and trash guide the way through this enigmatic sonic hood presented in Perro Sucio 2.

Dimitris Kamarotos - Electromagnetic Landscapes [Intersonik Recordings]

Intersonik Recordings presents a limited edition of 180gr vinyl records of previously unreleased material composed by Dimitris Kamarotos, titled “Εlectromagnetic Landscapes”, and ranging from Avant-garde to Εlectro-Acoustic and Ambient.

Dimitris began his career in 1979 using a mix of both analog and digital technologies. In particular, he made use of the analog EMS SYNTHI VCS3 the “4Χ” real time digital system (IRCAM, Paris, France), the UPIC System created by Iannis Xenakis (Center of Modern Music Research, Athens, Greece), Spectrum, Apple McIntosh personal computers and custom circuitries to create his early compositions.

Starting back in Paris in 1983 all the way up to Athens in 2016, he has created numerous audio compositions using both modern studio techniques as well as live performances.

This collection was created as a result of detailed research through Dimitris’s previously unreleased material, which included his private collection of analog reel-to-reel tapes, Hard discs and 48K digital memory devices!

All Side A material was transferred from original masters (stereo analog 1/4 inch tapes) except for the track A05, that was originally mastered on four-channel 1/2 inch analog tape and then remixed into stereo. (source)

Sudan Archives - Sink [Stones Throw]

Violinist and vocalist, Sudan Archives writes, plays, and produces her own music. Drawing inspiration from Sudanese fiddlers, she is self-taught on the violin, and her unique songs also fold in elements of R&B, and experimental electronic music.

Sudan Archives grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she "messed around with instruments in the house" and took up violin in the fourth grade, eventually teaching herself how to play the instrument by ear. When she discovered the violin playing style of Northeast Africa, her eyes opened to the possibilities of the instrument. "The way they played it was different from classical music. I resonated with the style, and I was like, 'Maybe I can use this style with electronic music,'" she says.

This fusing of folk music and electronic production was the turning point for Sudan. "I started mixing my violin into beats,” she says, “It wasn't complicated — I'd just sing straight into the iPad." She honed her at-home style after moving to Los Angeles aged 19 to study music technology, and after a chance encounter at a Low End Theory party with Stones Throw A&R and Leaving Records owner Matthewdavid, she signed with Stones Throw. At the very start of her musical career, she's already won plaudits from the likes of the New York Times and Pitchfork, and played live at experimental festival Moogfest.

Her EP Sudan Archives is an extraordinary debut statement from a singular artist. Over six tracks, Sudan Archives layers harmonies, violin figures and ethereal vocals, grounding them all with the hip-hop beats.

Raiden - Menace [Hallowed Ground Records]

Hallowed Ground Records is proud to announce the latest project by London based producer Raiden, Menace. A dark descent into violence through aggressive and experimental hip hop and grime.

The EP begins with Reaper, featuring a mangled and distorted folk guitar sample that marches with a rampaging of drum line, looping and slowly dissipating into the more electronic sounds of Kabuki - a turbulent trip through trap and grime. Food is a Swans influenced hip hop track that morphs into a Rachel Sweet based beat.

The highlight of the piece is Honeymoon / Sicko with swirling and unnerving samples anchored by a harsh dancehall rhythm. The EP ends through an interlude to Door Knocker - a grime number.
